Living in landlocked Idaho can't keep Modern Sailing member Andy Hoobing away from sailing. Nearly once a month, Andy, often with family, flies across at least three states to go sailing on San Francisco Bay... or farther.

Among Modern Sailing club members, William Le was our most frequent charterer of 2021. It's obvious from his course and charter history that he's fallen in love with sailing. You might be surprised to learn that William began sailing only last September 2020. He writes:
Are you going for one or more ASA certifications? Want to know what you can do to maximize your odds of successfully completing your course? What are some of the scenarios that may lead to course incompletion?
Are you craving some variety to spice up your San Francisco Bay sailing excursions? For a change of pace and scenery, try a dock-and-dine expedition!

Modern Sailing and Inspire Sailing's Three Bridge Fiasco race teams enjoyed a pleasant day of sailing on Saturday, in spite of struggling with light January winds and the usual strong San Franciso Bay currrents.
Every year in late January, the Singlehanded Sailing Society presents one of the biggest sailboat races west of the Mississippi River: the Three Bridge Fiasco.
Congratulations and many thanks to Modern Sailing's newest Commodores Club inductees, our most active members of 2021!
Year after year, we look forward to bringing this delightful event to our members with Lighted Boat Parade Club Sails. This year, 5 boats loaded with 37 MSC members and their guests enjoyed participating in this magical holiday experience.
Daylight Saving season ends on November 2, bringing some seasonal changes to chartering at Modern Sailing. The changes described below will go into effect on Monday, November 3.
MSC instructors Laura Parent, Katie Cornetta, and Kira Maixner participated as crew in this year's Rolex Big Boat Series. See photos of their teams and boats and read about their BBS race experience in their own words.
