Modern Sailing School & Club is the premier sailing school on the West Coast. We have been teaching adults how to sail on the San Francisco Bay and internationally since 1983. Our personable and experienced professionals provide the highest level of instruction on the San Francisco Bay and California coast. Courses and specialty clinics are taught year-round, during the week and on the weekend.

This year has seen unprecedented growth for Modern Sailing. We have expanded to three distinct locations, introduced beautiful new vessels to the fleet, and welcomed fantastic new members to our clubs. Amidst all this exciting expansion, our staff has put in some serious heavy lifting.

    I love sailing in the San Francisco Bay and greatly appreciate everything that MSC has to offer, the classes, clinics, club sails, racing and charters. I enjoy our supportive sailing community and use every opportunity to spend time on the water. After obtaining the certifications from MSC I did my first charter in Croatia in 2022 with my family. It was amazing and we’re looking forward to returning soon!
