Andaman Seas: A Thailand Sailing Adventure 2026

Railay Beach

From Phuket's Tropical Harbors to the Karst Labyrinths of the Andaman Islands

Prepare to embark on an incredible journey into the heart of Thailand's most captivating maritime landscapes. We are thrilled to unveil our Spring 2026 Global Destinations for an extraordinary sailing flotilla, meticulously designed to blend adventurous exploration with sophisticated comfort and enriching cultural immersion. This luxurious escape is set for March 19 to 28, an intimate encounter with the sublime beauty of the Andaman Sea.

This bespoke ten-day sailing expedition promises an unforgettable blend of relaxation, discovery, and exhilaration. Led by experienced captains of Modern Sailing as your guides, you'll delve into the captivating diversity of Thai culture, uncover ecological wonders, and hone your maritime skills amidst a backdrop of unparalleled natural splendor.

Our adventure begins at the modern Ao Po Grand Marina in Phuket, a perfect springboard for our exploration. From there, we'll navigate through a carefully curated itinerary, designed to showcase the diverse wonders of the Andaman Sea.

Our chosen dates, March 19 - 28, 2026, place your expedition squarely within the Andaman Islands' summer season, offering ideal conditions for sailing and exploration. Expect a comfortable maximum of 32°C (89°F) and a pleasant minimum of 23°C (73°F). This period boasts calm, clear waters and minimal rainfall, ensuring perfect conditions for all outdoor activities, from rock climbing and swimming to snorkeling and scuba diving.

The Andaman Islands, an archipelago of over 200 islands in the northeastern Indian Ocean, are a melting pot of cultures. While Hindi and English are official languages, you'll hear Bengali, Tamil, and Telugu, reflecting the diverse communities that call these islands home. Hinduism is the majority religion, contributing to the cultural diversity you'll encounter.

Prepare your palate for an extraordinary culinary adventure! The islands boast some of the finest restaurants and food outlets, renowned for their wide variety of cuisines. You absolutely must sample the lip-smacking authentic dishes, especially the fresh seafood preparations like fish curry, crab, and grilled lobster, all expertly prepared with local coconut and fragrant Andaman spices. From charming cafes to lavish restaurants, your gastronomic journey will be as memorable as your sailing experience.

Imagine waking to the gentle lapping of waves against the hull of your catamaran, the sun-kissed islands of Southern Thailand beckoning from your panoramic view. Slip into the crystal-clear turquoise waters for a refreshing morning swim or snorkel, navigating vibrant coral reefs and discovering secluded coves where ancient limestone karsts pierce the cerulean sky. Afternoons unfold with invigorating beach and coastal excursions, offering vibrant sights and endless photographic opportunities as you bask on sun-drenched sands. As dusk settles, evenings transition seamlessly between exhilarating shorefront nightlife and tranquil moments beneath a vast canopy of stars, sharing tales of the day's discoveries with fellow discerning travelers.

The Full Moon Sail with Skipper Bob Gutsgell was Ah-Mayzing!! The group dynamic was lovely and the views spectacular. I can't say enough good things about the experience. Thanks so much for the wonderful Club Sails, they are really great.

  • Sara Jane G.

I've taken two classes at MSS&C and was very happy with the program. This is also a great club with lots of opportunities for camaraderie and practice on the water. The boats in the fleet are fantastic and kept in tip-top shape. I highly recommend for all sailors and would-be sailors!

  • John Kipping

The meeting room was quite adequate and the location most convenient, but the course outline and instruction were outstanding. Modern Sailing is fortunate to have such a well organized instructor in Mr. Stan Lander who teaches very well from a rich professional background. Mr. Lander was generous with his time and patiently in helping students who needed more attention or time in understanding various aspects of the curriculum.

  • Trudy Flores

Captain Jeff Cathers is really cool. I had such a great time on the Farallones Day Trip. It was actually my very best day of 2020. Thank you so much for coordinating the trip.

  • Ray Arceneaux

The vessel was clean and in fine condition - very nice boat for training, well-equipped.
