Ho’okele

Catamaran
Seawind 1160

Ho'okele is a Seawind 1160 catamaran. This model of catamaran is renowned for its phenomenal sailing attributes: speed, maneuverability, and comfort. Twin engines, dual helms, a roller-furling and self-tacking jib, and mainsail with lazy jacks and stack pack provide ease of handling. The interior design offers spaciousness and 360-degree visibility. The saloon can be completely opened to the cockpit thanks to the innovative doors that fold up in and stow overhead in the cockpit roof. Chefs will love the spacious galley, which boasts plenty of storage and counter space and a pleasant view of the water through the starboard portlight.

Ho’okele has three cabins and can sleep six to eight people. For day sails, her comfort rating is 12 people. Charter this sleek cat for the ultimate multi-hull cruise on San Francisco Bay!

All of the courses and my instructors (JT and Stan) were extremely professional and full of knowledge and experience. I found I was able to learn from their experiences beyond the scope of the courses, and look forward to future opportunities to do so. I would highly recommend Modern Sailing to anyone.

The meeting room was quite adequate and the location most convenient, but the course outline and instruction were outstanding. Modern Sailing is fortunate to have such a well organized instructor in Mr. Stan Lander who teaches very well from a rich professional background. Mr. Lander was generous with his time and patiently in helping students who needed more attention or time in understanding various aspects of the curriculum.

The class was terrific. I know you must get many compliments about your sailing instructors...But I must tell you that Robert is outstanding. Having taught SCUBA, I really appreciate the way he is so sensitive to all on board, dealing with each so well, knowing quickly their strengths and weaknesses making each feel special and cared for.

We just took our ASA 106 at a school in Rhode Island as we prepare for 6 months of cruising in the Caribbean. The class was great, but more than anything it made us really appreciate the quality of teaching and rigor at Modern Sailing. Even though we were the newest to sailing, the group seemed to think that we had the best fundamentals. We felt very well prepared and we see why Modern Sailing has the reputation it does.

I would like to compliment Stan Lander for his coaching, counseling and teaching Heavy Weather Offshore Sailing. Stan was very accommodating to all of the student's interests and shared his many years of insight on handling the boat in heavy seas. I would certainly recommend Stan and this course to sheltered waters sailors. My confidence in handling a boat of this size was certainly enhanced by the experience.
