Get ready to hoist the sails for a cause that touches the hearts of millions. Modern Sailing School and Club is proud to announce our participation as an official Ambassador in the inaugural Sailing 4 Parkinson's Regatta for Resilience, set to galvanize the Bay Area sailing community the weekend of April 11 - 12, 2026.
Hosted by the Corinthian Yacht Club on World Parkinson's Day, this regatta is a powerful declaration of hope, resilience, and the healing power of sailing.

Modern Sailing: A Call for Team Captains - Share Your Spark for Resilience
Modern Sailing is building teams from our fleet to the April 12th Regatta for Resilience and we are searching for passionate leaders to "share their spark" as Team Captains.
Team Captains are the heart of this movement. They are community leaders, organizers and individuals whose lives have been touched by Parkinson's. They are advocates who will raise the funds to help find a cure.
Our own Modern Sailing member, Amy Bridge, was inspired by French sailor Bertrand Delhom, the first person with Parkinson's to complete a circumnavigation during the 2023 Ocean Globe Race (OGR) aboard Neptune, skippered by Tanneguy Raffray and his crew from Brittany, France. That spark led Amy to bring the Neptune Project to the Bay Area, and now we're passing that torch to you.
The Ask: Become an Ambassador and Team Captain
Priority - Team Captains: We need advocates ready to spread the word, organize fundraising efforts, and recruit participants. You will lead the charge in raising awareness and funds for Parkinson's research and support. (Team Captains do not need to be seasoned sailors or skippers).
Email us office@modernsailing.com to raise your hand to volunteer to be a Team Captain.
Skippers and Crew (Early 2026): In January, we will open registration for skippers and crew to join a Modern Sailing team. The fee will be $150 per person with 100% of proceeds benefiting the Parkinson's charity partners. This will be your chance to turn your love of sailing into a powerful wave of support.
An Event for Everyone!
The weekend of April 11 - 12, 2026 will be at the Corinthian Yacht Club - offering a variety of ways to participate, whether you're on the water or on the dock:
- April 11: Yacht Cruise-Out
- April 11: "Fête de la Baie" Fundraiser Gala - A Black Tie evening at the Corinthian Yacht Club in Tiburon sailors are invited to attend (6:30 - 10pm).
- April 12: The Regatta - Racing begins at 12:30pm at CYC.
- April 12: Regatta Party - A dockside celebration at CYC after the race featuring live music and community spirit.
Modern Sailing will register the boats in our fleet participating in the event. If you have your own boat you'd like to enter in the regatta, visit the Neptune Project's Sailing 4 Parkinsons webpage for more details.

Why We Sail: A Global Mission, a Local Call
Parkinson's disease is the fastest growing neurodegenerative disease, affecting an estimated 1.1 million people in the U. S. (more than 10 million worldwide). While the condition affects movement, the human spirit refuses to be anchored.
As local sailor Craig Dahl recently shared in Latitude 38, sailing offers profound therapeutic benefits. "Sailing 4 Parkinson's felt like the perfect blend of everything I love: sailing, community and a sense of hope."
Every dollar raised supports:
- The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research
- The Parkinson Association of Northern California (PANC)
These organizations provide critical research toward a cure and support services that improve the quality of life for those living with Parkinson's today.
