Seychelles 2025 Flotilla: A Dream Realized

From the moment we dropped anchor in the vibrant blue waters of the Indian Ocean until the final farewell, the Modern Sailing Global Destinations Flotilla to the Seychelles (September 10 – 20, 2025) was nothing short of a dream come true. We set sail for a remote paradise—and found a hidden gem of white-sand beaches, towering granite peaks, and a marine world teeming with life.

The 10-day adventure delivered on its promise of groundbreaking exploration. Our inaugural Seychelles flotilla navigated the stunning Inner Islands, exploring the geological wonders of Mahé, snorkeling among graceful green and hawksbill turtles in the St. Anne Marine National Park, and soaking up the island time.

Captain Tyler Cobbett skippered one of the MSC Club boats and enjoyed how the captains collaborated on everything from anchorage suggestions to social gatherings on shore.
"There was something for everyone in the Seychelles - the teeming coral reef at Ile St. Pierre, the 900 foot climb through jungle and huge granite boulders to the top of La Digue, laid back beach bars and restaurants, to the fine dining at Del Place on Mahé." It's safe to say he'll be one of the first to sign up for our return trip.

"If you're looking for a real adventure while being in absolute paradise, Seychelles is the place to be. It's got an unspoiled beauty that simply can't be put into words. Behind every cove is a beach that is simply stunning. Each island, big and small, has reefs perfect for snorkeling, shops, bars, and restaurants with incredible atmosphere, and between them all is some of the best sailing conditions imaginable." - Ben Porter, Modern Sailing member

We discovered the unique beauty of islands like Curieuse, home to the iconic coco-de-mer palms. Whether indulging in delicious Creole cuisine, mastering tricky maneuvers with our skippers, or simply basking in the balmy weather and the 10-20 knot breezes, the spirit of camaraderie and adventure was at the heart of every moment.

"Jeff and Robert were excellent captains — they really listened and were respectful of everyone’s needs and opinions, which made a big difference. Tyler and Ben brought great energy to the group — they were both a lot of fun and added so much to the overall experience." - Alisa Driscoll, Modern Sailing member

"If you have never tried bare boating in an exotic destination before, you should. Having your own space with your best friends to explore this paradise can't be beat. And doing so with a flotilla full of experienced sailors around to offer guidance and support is even better. I promise it's easier than you think." - Ben Porter

The Seychelles is an enchanting destination. We hope you set your sails with us next time!

Thumbs up to (Club Skipper) Geoff (Love) and his wife Laura. I went on my first Club Sail on Sunday, January 18, 2026. They were terrific!

We just took our ASA 106 at a school in Rhode Island as we prepare for 6 months of cruising in the Caribbean. The class was great, but more than anything it made us really appreciate the quality of teaching and rigor at Modern Sailing. Even though we were the newest to sailing, the group seemed to think that we had the best fundamentals. We felt very well prepared and we see why Modern Sailing has the reputation it does.

I took ASA 101 with them recently. They have the best customer service I've ever seen! I mistyped my address when I signed up online so didn't receive the textbook. I called and the lady immediately sent me another copy! Everyone at the club is super friendly.

I would definitely recommend Modern Sailing to anyone who is interested in learning to sail the right way.

The vessel was clean and in fine condition - very nice boat for training, well-equipped.
