Instructor
Eric Partika moved to San Francisco in 2008 and immediately got into sailing on the Bay. He has owned two cruising sailboats in Emeryville and Sausalito, but in 2017, decided to leave boat ownership and join Modern Sailing as a student and member. Eric completed the lion’s share of his sailing training at Modern Sailing and went on to become a Club Skipper in 2021.
Eric enjoys sharing his love of sailing with friends, family, and fellow club members. As a Club Skipper, his enjoyment of helping other sailors to develop their skills by passing on his experience and lessons learned from sailing around San Francisco Bay, the Catalinas, and the Italian Riviera, naturally evolved into becoming a professional sailing instructor. In early 2023, Eric completed Modern Sailing's ASA Instructor Qualification Courses and is now qualified to teach 101, 103, 104, 114 and 118.
Eric says, "I hope to foster other people’s interest for sailing and offer up any knowledge I have gained over the years. Hope to meet you on the water some day!”
