Stray Cat

Silver Fleet
Catalina 320

Stray Cat is a Catalina 320 in our Sausalito Silver Plus Fleet. The 320 features modern construction with Catalina's hallmark comfort value. With a high-performance and large-volume hull design, the 320 is light on the helm and tracks well under sail or power. Motion and heeling are gentle and predictable.

The galley is smartly designed and the salon is spacious and open, perfect for a weekend getaway. Host up to six guests with a capacious cockpit with dodger, stern pulpit seats, and cozy forward and aft cabins. Stray Cat makes a comfortable multi-day charter yacht as well as a fun and nimble performer under sail.

The meeting room was quite adequate and the location most convenient, but the course outline and instruction were outstanding. Modern Sailing is fortunate to have such a well organized instructor in Mr. Stan Lander who teaches very well from a rich professional background. Mr. Lander was generous with his time and patiently in helping students who needed more attention or time in understanding various aspects of the curriculum.

All of the courses and my instructors (JT and Stan) were extremely professional and full of knowledge and experience. I found I was able to learn from their experiences beyond the scope of the courses, and look forward to future opportunities to do so. I would highly recommend Modern Sailing to anyone.

I love sailing in the San Francisco Bay and greatly appreciate everything that MSC has to offer, the classes, clinics, club sails, racing and charters. I enjoy our supportive sailing community and use every opportunity to spend time on the water. After obtaining the certifications from MSC I did my first charter in Croatia in 2022 with my family. It was amazing and we’re looking forward to returning soon!

I would definitely recommend Modern Sailing to anyone who is interested in learning to sail the right way.

We just took our ASA 106 at a school in Rhode Island as we prepare for 6 months of cruising in the Caribbean. The class was great, but more than anything it made us really appreciate the quality of teaching and rigor at Modern Sailing. Even though we were the newest to sailing, the group seemed to think that we had the best fundamentals. We felt very well prepared and we see why Modern Sailing has the reputation it does.
