Betty is a Catalina 30 in our Sausalito Silver Plus Fleet. The Catalina 30 is one of the most popular cruising sailboats of this size in the world. Catalina Yachts built this model in one design conformity for over 20 years - a true testimonial to the design. With a 10' 10" beam, ample displacement of over 10,000 lbs, hull speed of 6.7 knots, and a roomy cockpit, Betty is a great day sailor for crews of up to 6 people and a cozy overnighter for 4 to 5 sailors.

Sturdily built, fun, and easy to sail, this sailboat is an ideal choice for learning, practicing, and enjoying sailing on San Francisco Bay.

The class was great, but more than anything it made us really appreciate the quality of teaching and rigor at Modern Sailing. Modern Sailing is fortunate to have such a well organized instructor in Mr. Stan Lander who teaches very well from a rich professional background. Mr. Lander was generous with his time and patiently in helping students who needed more attention or time in understanding various aspects of the curriculum.
