ASA 190 - 204 Instructor Preparation Clinic

Need your ASA 104 certificate to join the ASA 204 IQC?

Instructor Candidates can prepare for the ASA 204, Bareboat Chartering Instructor Qualification Clinic and fulfill the student-level ASA 104 certification prerequisite by attending this preparation clinic. ASA 104 certification requires passing a written examination and an on-the-water skills evaluation by an Instructor Evaluator. If the Instructor Candidate is successful, the Instructor Evaluator signs the Candidate's log book and ASA issues the certification sticker by mail.

NOTE: Even though you can earn your ASA Instructor Certificate without holding a US Merchant Marine Credential (captain's license), you will not be eligible to work as an instructor on US federal waters without credentials/licensure.

I enjoy our supportive sailing community and use every opportunity to spend time on the water. After obtaining the certifications from MSC I did my first charter in Croatia in 2022 with my family. The meeting room was quite adequate and the location most convenient, but the course outline and instruction were outstanding. Modern Sailing is fortunate to have such a well organized instructor in Mr. Stan Lander who teaches very well from a rich professional background. Mr. Lander was generous with his time and patiently in helping students who needed more attention or time in understanding various aspects of the curriculum.

I took ASA 101 with them recently. They have the best customer service I've ever seen! I mistyped my address when I signed up online so didn't receive the textbook. I called and the lady immediately sent me another copy! Everyone at the club is super friendly.
