Firefly

Platinum Fleet
Oceanis 40.1

Firefly is one of our first Premier Tier vessels available in the Sausalito Platinum fleet. This stunning 2023 Beneteau Oceanis 40.1 is designed for exceptional comfort and performance on the water.

Firefly is equipped for effortless sailing with her in-mast furling mainsail and precise handling thanks to a bow thruster for close quarters maneuvering. The dual rudder system and folding propeller enhance her stability and performance, while the autopilot simplifies longer passages. Cruise in ultimate comfort on deck with the sea spray protection of a dodger and plush cockpit cushions.  Below deck, Firefly offers a spacious and inviting interior with a 3-cabin layout, including two aft quarter berths and a comfortable V-berth forward. With two heads, one of which is en suite in the V-berth, she comfortably sleeps up to six people, extending to eight when converting the drop-down salon table to a berth. For extended stays, enjoy the convenience of a top-loading fridge, stove & oven, and a hot water system for all your culinary needs. An inverter onboard ensures you can power small appliances or keep your devices charged, and modern navigation is made simple with the chartplotter at the helm.

Easy water access is provided by her convenient electric swim platform, perfect for a refreshing dip or boarding your tender. Firefly has a day sail comfort rating of 10 people.

I took ASA 101 with them recently. They have the best customer service I've ever seen! I mistyped my address when I signed up online so didn't receive the textbook. I called and the lady immediately sent me another copy! Everyone at the club is super friendly.

The meeting room was quite adequate and the location most convenient, but the course outline and instruction were outstanding. Modern Sailing is fortunate to have such a well organized instructor in Mr. Stan Lander who teaches very well from a rich professional background. Mr. Lander was generous with his time and patiently in helping students who needed more attention or time in understanding various aspects of the curriculum.

The Full Moon Sail with Skipper Bob Gutsgell was Ah-Mayzing!! The group dynamic was lovely and the views spectacular. I can't say enough good things about the experience. Thanks so much for the wonderful Club Sails, they are really great.

Here are some snaps of Our Saturday, August 20, 2022 Modern Sailing Expedition with Captain Robert Bivin, who was outstanding. Please convey photos and thanks to him. He is an outstanding individual, leader and sailing instructor. His knowledge and experience made us all feel safe and our Farallones Day Trip educational and just amazing.

I try to get out on the water every week: out the Gate, around Angel, up Raccoon - I love it all. After 18 years as a member of OCSC in Berkeley, I learned to sail the bigger boats at Modern by taking ASA 103 and 104. My ASA 104 instructor Dave Russell was terrific. Also, Captain Bill Moreland has been very generous in giving informal advice whenever I’ve asked him. Thanks to Bill, I no longer have any anxiety about docking!
