Survivor is a 2017 Beneteau Oceanis 38, featuring an in-mast furling mainsail, and a rolling-furling, self-tacking jib, making her an easy boat to sail with short-handed crews. The Beneteau Oceanis 38 offers a substantial performance-to-habitability ratio for this size of cruising yacht. Length and beam on the waterline have been extended to the limit to enable her quick to cut through the water while increasing stability. She offers three cabins, outfitted in-line galley, and head with a separate enclosed shower. She can accommodate 6 guests overnight. Survivor has a large cockpit with twin steering stations, dual rudder configuration, and a drop-down swim deck. For day sails, her comfort rating is 8 people.
Every aspect of Modern Sailing - training, syllabus, course materials, quality of the boats, quality of the instructors, and the very friendly and helpful staff - exceeded my expectations. Modern Sailing has a first class sailing program in an environment with challenging winds and currents. I look forward to coming back to charter a boat and certainly plan to continue my sailing training.
