Belize Flotilla

Modern Sailing School & Club, Adventure Sailing with John Connolly on the Belize Flotilla - Get your Cruising Catamaran Certification (ASA 114)

Why a Flotilla with Modern Sailing?
As a club, we strive to provide an active, supportive, and relaxing social environment for our members to further their sailing education and experience. Our flotillas are a perfect opportunity for you to practice your sailing skills in exotic waters with the support and social camaraderie of a group. If this is your first international charter, you will confidently be able to bring family for friends along, knowing that there is support all around you. If you have sailed internationally before, even in Belize, you will enjoy the group dynamics and social flavor of sailing in a flotilla. Don’t wait to book your boat or spot, as the Belize Flotilla is going to be a very popular trip!
Why Belize?
Modern Sailing School & Club, Adventure Sailing with John Connolly on the Belize Flotilla - Get your Cruising Catamaran Certification (ASA 114)
Located along the Caribbean Coast of Northern Central America, Belize has been fairly untouched by tourism and boasts some of the best sailing grounds in the world. Whether it’s calm water cruising, world class diving, rain forest trekking, Mayan ruins, cave exploring, or simply relaxing under a coconut tree enjoying the warm trade winds, you will find all you are looking for in a charter destination in Belize. The Barrier Reef in Belize is one of the main attractions. It offers not only unlimited dive locations, but great protection from the large open ocean swells. Most people find this a very comfortable place to cruise. Navigating is easy as you are almost always within sight of an island. The challenging part is learning to read the shallow (sometimes known as “skinny”) waters and recognizing coral!
How to Book Your Trip
There are a few different options you have when joining a Modern Sailing flotilla. Each option is sure to fit your skill level and budget.

  • Reserve an entire boat and fill that boat with your family and friends.
  • Choose to skipper a boat, and we will help you find people interested in booking a cabin on your boat. Alternatively, you can book a cabin on a boat skippered by a fellow sailor. Crew parties and planning parties will help you hook up with those interested.
  • Reserve a cabin on the trip leader’s boat.

OR - Get your Cruising Catamaran Certification (ASA 114) and join John Connolly's Boat, a Leopard 45 with 4 cabins, each with their own heads:

  • $2195 / berth
  • $3950 / cabin
