The diesel engine is an ever-important component of sailing. With a small amount of knowledge you can become comfortable performing regular maintenance and completing minor repairs on your own.

This hands-on class is taught using a mounted diesel engine by local marine mechanic Tom List. Topics include fuel filter maintenance and bleeding the system, interaction between the raw and fresh water systems, valve adjustments and more. Identifying common problems and trouble shooting are a central part of the class.
