  Weekend Club Sails  
     
  Maintain your sailing skills and meet new people - Join us on a club sail! Our weekend club sails are informal day sails, skippered by members of the club who are friendly and supportive people. The sails are scheduled for either Saturday or Sunday from 10am - 4pm and cost $50 (non-members pay $70). All experience levels are welcome, and you can determine your own level of participation, whether it's taking the helm or sitting back and relaxing.   BBQs and Chow Downs
 
 

After a club sail on select weekends, Modern Sailing throws its members, students and guests a party! In the summer we BBQ burgers, hot-dogs, boca burgers and in the winter we chow down on some chili and clam chowder. There is no better way to enjoy a day than sailing and hanging out with friends. Relax in our comfortable Club Lounge while recapping the days sailing.

Interested in joining the club? The BBQs are a perfect opportunity for you to meet some members and instructors and tour the facility. See you there!

  Wednesday Night Sailing
 
  Much like our weekend club sails, the Wednesday Night Sails are fun and exciting. We only do these sails in the summer time, so there is plenty of light and wind to enjoy. End your work day with a few hours of sailing, and you will be totally refreshed for the rest of the week! Keep an eye on the Compass Rose for dates. Cost is $35 (non-members pay $45). Call us to reserve your spot!
 
 
  Full Moon Hikes
 
  This non-sailing event is a huge hit. We meet at the Tennessee Valley Trail head and hike over the hill to the Pelican Inn, a great little pub in Muir Beach. After devouring plates of french fries and enjoying cool refreshments, we hike back under the full moon. From the trail, you can see Ocean Beach, the San Francisco skyline, Tiburon - - and the ocean. The views are incredible and the company is fantastic. The hike is about 6 miles round trip and covers some altitude. Call us for a current schedule. This is event is free and open to everyone!

  Flotillas
 
 

As a club, we strive to provide an active, supportive, and relaxing social environment for our members to further their sailing education and experience. Our flotillas are a perfect opportunity for you to practice your sailing skills either on San Francisco Bay or in exotic waters with the support and social camaraderie of a group. You will confidently be able to bring family for friends along, knowing that there is support all around you. Even if you have extensive cruising experience, you will enjoy the group dynamics and social flavor of sailing in a flotilla.
