Starting October 12
The Recreation Racing Clinic and League provides racers with introductory training in the fundamentals of racing: tides and currents, sail trim, basic tactics, starts, rounding marks, basic spinnaker training. Racers will participate in the Corinthian Yacht Club Spring Series on Friday Nights with a Coach on board to facilitate training.
While on board, racers will rotate through the different stations (skipper, main sail trimmer, jib trimmer, tactician) in order to gain skills and confidence in each role.
The focus of the Recreation Racing League is to have fun, become familiar with racing on SF Bay, and learn all on-board roles.The Summer Race Series includes the Friday Night Races - Corinthian Yacht Club and the Sunset Series - Sausalito Yacht Club. Pre-requisite is ASA 103.
The Recreational Race Clinics includes 4 modules:
- Fundamentals Classroom Session
- Sail Trim
- Starts and Marks
- Spinnaker Training

The Performance Race Clinic and League provides participants with intermediate race training: spinnaker sailing, tactics, starting strategies, sail trim, developing a greater understanding of sailing in SF Bay conditions.
Racers will participate in three clinics with a coach on board to facilitate training. Racers will have an opportunity, for the entire series, to remain in the same on-board position, allowing each racer to further advance their experience and begin to specialize in a racing skill.
The focus of the Performance Race Clinic and League is to have fun, be competitive, and build a cohesive team with consistent participants who are learning a specific onboard skills. There is also an emphasis on practicing as a team, and there will be regular post-race reviews of tactics and execution.
The Performance Race Clinic Includes four race modules:
- Advanced Spinnaker Training
- Advanced Racing Rules
- Boat-on-Boat Tactics
- Boat Instruments / Mobile Devises
